Today we are picking up where we left off with the story of Jesus (see The Nativity Tree: 25 Days of Christ for reading selections about his birth).
My mom & I have compiled (to the best of our abilities & knowledge) a somewhat chronological list of Bible readings to follow the life of Christ. You can choose to do the longer version – a total of 70 days. Or, you can do the shorter version – a total of only 50 days – with more reading each day.
For both, we tried to have the Easter story line up with Easter Week timeline. That means there will be a lot more reading during that week (except for Saturday). Both lists continue into the following week to sum up Jesus’ earthly ministry before his ascension.

We hope you enjoy reading about the Life of Christ. We plan on making this a yearly tradition ourselves.
Just a note: The 4 Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John) all cover the life of Jesus. However, each tells a different portion or aspect of his life. Think of it this way…4 people witness a traffic accident at an intersection. All 4 witnesses may tell the same story but with a different perspective or point of view. Thus, when we compiled our list, we tried to choose the passages that seemed to be the most detailed or, in our opinion, were beautiful. Although you are encouraged to read all the Gospels in their entirety, we hope this may save you some time as you are becoming familiar with Jesus’ life.
